Site Visit Open Days

The WBS building site between two brick built houses

Wilson Building Solutions Ltd will be holding several open days this month at their first development to use the Amvic ICF system in the small Lincolnshire village of Middle Rasen.

The property under construction is a five bedroom detached house being built using the Amvic 280mm Neopor system, giving a wall U-Value of 0.22 W/mēK. The planning department required a brick finish, so WBS will be using a brick slip system to clad the Amvic externally. This will give more floor space internally, and enable the same team building the Amvic system to also complete the external cladding.

Managing Director Robert Wilson will be on-site to answer questions about why they chose Amvic, and how they are finding the system to work with as the build progresses.

Amvic ICF Gets A+ Green Guide Energy Rating

Energy Efficiency scaleThe Amvic Insulating Concrete Formwork system has just been awarded an A+ by the BRE under its Green Guide to Specification assessment scheme.

To quote the BRE, 'In the Green Guide, materials and components are assessed in terms of their environmental impacts, within comparable specifications, across their entire life cycles. This accessible and reliable information will help all those involved in the design, construction and management of buildings to reduce the environmental impacts of their properties.'

The A+ awarded by the BRE demonstrates that the Amvic ICF system is one of the most environmentally friendly ways that you can build today.

Council of Mortgage Lenders Approve Amvic ICF

The CML website logoThis April the Valuation Panel of the Council of Mortgage Lenders has officially confirmed that Amvic Insulating Concrete Formwork construction amongst others IS fully acceptable for mortgage purposes as a standard form of construction, due to our having full BRE certification and membership to the UK ICF Trade Association, the ICFA.

Whilst ICF has generally been accepted by all major mortgage lenders as a masonry form of construction for many years now, this official statement demonstrates the increasing level of significance this modern method of construction is gaining within the UK, which is great news for the environment, the construction industry in general, and Amvic.

Conifers School Children Build Amvic

The children at Conifers School in Easebourne got to express their creative skills when Amvic Wall Systems hosted an outdoor building challenge as part of the school children's 'Outside In' term project.

Head of Conifers, Jennie Peel, commented: "...[the children] worked together incredibly well and thoroughly enjoyed creating different shapes and structures from the blocks. The material was nice and lightweight, which meant even the smallest children could get involved and help create the finished house"

Pictures of the project can be viewed at http://www.conifersschool.com/

Amvic is a Blast!!!

This blast test on the Amvic system shows just how strong the concrete core is.

Estimating Services and Site Visits

Model house on some plansAs a building system, the Amvic ICF system provides a quick and practical method of construction. With fewer components than would be required for traditional construction, it is also easier to organise and co-ordinate the building process.

We offer a free estimating service which you can access simply by sending us a set of dimensioned drawings to the address at the bottom of the page. Alternatively you can email drawing files to us in CAD format if you prefer.

And if you would like to meet us at one of our developments to discuss your project further then let us know.
